Title I Staff

La Shun Jones, Title I Facilitator

I am excited to start my 20th year here at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School.  I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I received my masters from Tennessee State University in Administration and Supervision.  Later, I attended Middle Tennessee State University and earned my E.D.S. in Curriculum and Instruction.  I look forward to another wonderful year at MPES and the opportunity to grow and learn with the students, teachers, and parents.

I'm from Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.  I'm married with three daughters.  My hobbies are gardening and spending time with my family.

Linda Loyd, Academic Facilitator

I’m currently the Academic Facilitator at Mt. Pleasant Elementary. After graduating from Middle Tennessee University and completing my K-8 certification from University of Alabama, I began teaching. Then received my Masters in Curriculum from Trevecca University and received my plus 30 in Curriculum and Instruction. I’ve spent the bulk of my teaching career teaching in Lawrence County Schools in K-3 classrooms. Eight years ago I decided to move to Maury County and I began teaching at Highland Park Elementary as an Academic Facilitator and now I am currently here doing the same job! There isn’t anything I dislike at Mt. Pleasant Elementary. I truly enjoy the culture, atmosphere of students and teachers, and how intentional their teachers are in making sure every child is learning.

When I’m not at Mt. Pleasant Elementary, I enjoy spending time with my husband of forty-two years and we are blessed to have three children that are married. We get to enjoy 6 grandchildren who call me “Granna.” I also enjoy reading, journaling, and growing flowers.

Stephanie Plunkett, Title Teacher

Stephanie Plunkett has been a teacher for 12 years, with the last 3 years at Mt. Pleasant Elementary. Stephanie graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. While working for Maury County Public schools, she obtained her Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University. Stephanie was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant; therefore, she has a true connection to the children and community. When not at school, she can be found loving on her three boys Evan, Easton, and Colton.

Meg Lindsey, Title I Assistant

I'm beginning my fourth school year as a Title I Assistant at MPES. I love working with children and helping them learn! I'm a wife to Alan of four years and a busy mom to four girls. Two of which attend MPES and a set of twins! I'm super blessed with a wonderful family and workplace!

Kendra Smith, Title I Assistant

KS

I have worked for Maury County Schools since 2007. I spent my first year at MPES working as a Reading 1st Interventionist, one year as a Special Education Inclusion Assistant, and 2 years as a Title 1 Assistant. Then, I worked at Brown Elementary from 2011-2012 as a Title 1 Assistant. I returned back to MPES after that and have continued to be a Title 1 Assistant.

I have been married for 20 years to my husband, Jared, and we have 3 beautiful children; Courtney (18 years old), Madison (15 years old), and Jakob (14 years old). They keep us on the go with cheerleading and basketball.
