Kindergarten Teachers

Beth Ring

I grew up in Santa Fe and attended Santa Fe Unit School K-12.  My dream of becoming a teacher began in Kindergarten, so after graduation, I attended Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, TN where I earned my BS degree in Early Childhood Education.  I began my teaching career at MPES in 2003 and have loved every minute!  Each day I get to come to work and help children grow as learners and readers.

I live in Columbia with my husband, Brian, and we have 3 children, Austin, Kaylee, and Adam.  We love spending time together and even have a family YouTube channel.  When I actually have time to myself, I enjoy reading and watching Hallmark movies.  I'm excited to begin another wonderful school year at Mt. Pleasant Elementary, where students come first!

Cindy Tomlin

This is my second year to teach kindergarten at Mt. Pleasant Elementary. I grew up in Culleoka, TN, and previously taught kindergarten at Culleoka School. I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education from David Lipscomb University and  my master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University. I am the proud mom of four wonderful sons -- Andrew, Ben, Toby, and Ryan. I enjoy reading, walking, cooking, and spending time with family. I look forward to another awesome school year of growing and learning! Thank you for sharing your precious children with me!

Rachel Carter

This is my 6th year teaching and my 5th year teaching Kindergarten. I am a Maury County Public School graduate from Santa Fe. I attended Columbia State Community College and graduated with a Bachelors in Education from MTSU. Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to grow up to be a teacher! I am married and have a sweet baby girl, Caroline. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and going to the river.

I have a “hands-on” classroom where I try to make learning fun every day! I love to see my students explore and learn new things. I am excited to get this new school year started and I want to thank you for sharing your precious kindergartener with me!

I am proud to call MPES my home. I have been teaching for 6 years. I always knew that I wanted to work with children, even when I was young. I always enjoyed helping others learn and grow. I grew up here in Mount Pleasant and loved being in this great small town.  I went to Columbia State and MTSU for my undergraduate in K-6 teaching. When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family. I have two sweet boys that keep me on my toes. I love to read and spend my summers enjoying outside.
