1st Grade

MPES First Grade

Brooke Lovett

At a very young age I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I guess you can say teaching runs in my blood.

After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in 2000 I attended Columbia State Community College and I later transferred to Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tennessee. I graduated from Martin Methodist in May 2005. After graduation I returned home to my beloved alma matter and began teaching Kindergarten, over the next seven years I began to fall in love with teaching reading and writing. I am a huge supporter of Daily Five and Writing across the curriculum. Next, I moved on to teach First and Second grades. I have always loved being in the classroom, there is nowhere else I’d rather be. I began teaching in 2005.

My dream is to continue to share my love of education and learning with young people. When I’m not teaching school I enjoy spending time with my husband Blake and our two wonderful daughters Ansley and Taylor. We currently live in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee and on the weekends we enjoy playing outside, swimming, and going to ballgames.

I graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in August, 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education.  I grew up in Oklahoma, lived in Texas for 13 years, and moved to Tennessee 3 years ago. I have 3 wonderful daughters, one in high school, one in middle school, and one starting kindergarten this year. We LOVE Maury County Public Schools!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I love camping and being in the mountains; Colorado is my favorite!  I also enjoy watching volleyball, taking care of my farm animals, and crafting.

I am delighted to be a part of the Mt. Pleasant Elementary first grade team and I look forward to getting to know your family!

I am looking forward to another great year at Mt. Pleasant Elementary. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a BS in elementary education and also earned my Master’s Degree in reading. I taught third grade at MPES for eight years and last year I moved to first grade. I really enjoyed first grade and I am excited about this coming school year.

I live in Hampshire with my husband and our three children. The oldest two; Laura (20) and Weston (18) attend the University of Tennessee at Martin. The youngest; Kirk (16) is a junior at Hampshire Unit School. We enjoy our life on the farm in a small close-knit community.
